Details of decision:  £420,000.00 of collected CIL funds to be released to the Major and Special Projects team as a contribution towards the cost of the high-quality public realm and riverside steps delivered as part of the Coal Orchard regeneration scheme.

 

Reasons for proposed decision:  The allocation of CIL funds for Taunton Town Centre Regeneration were authorised by Full Council. This project is identified within the approved capital delivery plan for Somerset West and Taunton Council. Due to the need for this decision to be taken urgently before the end of March, it has been agreed by the decision taker, the CEO, and the Chair of Corporate Scrutiny Cllr Sue Buller, that this decision will not be subject to the call-in procedure (under procedure rule 15.8 of the SWT Constitution) but determined immediately.

 

 

Alternative funding options sourced:  Funding has been secured from FHSF, Capital Receipts, grants and other sources identified within the application for CIL funding (attached)
